Exploring the Relationship between Students’ Epistemological Beliefs about Science and their Approaches to Learning Science

Students’ approaches to the learning process, their style, cognitive preferences, and beliefs about knowledge had been main focus of empirical research for many years. A quantitative survey was carried out explore epistemological science towards science. Moreover, correlation between these two variables at secondary level classroom in Chitral, Pakistan determined. The population current study consisted 59293 students from both genders studying various public sector schools Chitral district. Secondary school served as this research, while 379 were randomly selected sample. Approaches Learning Questionnaire (ALQ) Students Epistemic Beliefs (SEB) questionnaire adapted administered data collection. findings showed that employed surface deep level. Similarly, they possessed mixed beliefs. Significant also found some categories students’ approaches. discussed implications above teaching activities classroom, teacher education institutions, other stakeholders. Specific recommendations with regards nature assessment proposed practices.
